We all have things that we are trying to accomplish in our lives, but sometimes we take on too much. We take on so much in fact that it seems that we are balancing on top of a world that is spinning out of control. If we don’t somehow get the spinning back under control we become like the juggler, trying to keep track of things that could burn us at any minute.
I hope that as you start your week you are not doing a balancing act or a juggling act. Yes, life can sometimes be a little hectic, but I hope that you are able to keep in under your control.

The ocean can be calm and beautiful, or it can show its power, as depicted in this photo. We too have more power than is sometime witnessed on the surface. The power of our minds can lead us to accomplish more than we have ever thought possible. If we learn to harness this power and use it to accomplish our goals, there is nothing we can not be, do, or have.
As we move into a new week, I hope that it is a great one.

This week, I have been thinking about perfection. Nature is perfect in so many ways. The flowers grow as they were designed to, and they do not have to struggle to be perfect. They are perfectly beautiful because that is how they were designed to be.
Even an overcast day can be perfectly beautiful. Nature shows us its perfections time and time again.
The only question that I have then is this: Why are we humans such imperfect creatures? We have to struggle through life and most of us are reminded too often that we are far from perfect.
I think that the reason that we are so imperfect is so that we can learn as we strive to get as close to natural perfection as humanly possible. I know that I will never be completely perfect, but I do know that I will learn some valuable lessons as I go through my life, and that is close enough to perfect for me.

I found this interesting quote online, and then added my own little embellishment.
“Life is not about waiting out the storm. It is more about learning to dance in the rain” and enjoying the rainbows along the way.

This world is filled with many different animals, and many different people. In that regard our world is very diverse. In one area of our human existence we are not as diverse as most people think. In the problems of life, we are not very diverse. No matter how alone you feel with a problem, you have to remember that you are not alone. Someone somewhere has faced a similar problem and has gotten through it. Seek them out and get help if you need it, but remember one thing. No matter what you are facing in your life, you are not alone.

As I was riding down the highway one day, I spotted a very peculiar sign on a nearby car. The sign read WAKE UP! It started me thinking. Why would someone put that sign on their car? Then it dawned on me what might have been meant by the sign was not related to physical sleep, but rather waking up from a spiritual, emotional, or other slumber.
I think that we are sometimes so “asleep” as we go about our busy lives that we really do need to be told to wake up. We need to wake up to the potential that we have for greatness in our lives. We need to wake up to all the opportunities that are being presented to us. We need to wake up and see where are current slumber is leading our lives, and hopefully lead ourselves in a new and better direction.

Alcatraz was the most feared prison of its era. Many former inmates were interviewed and asked how they dealt with the solitude of being so close to a bustling city yet so very far away. The majority of them answered, “We escaped in our minds”.
Escaping from the stress of our lives is a double edged sword. It could be good or it could be bad. If you sink into a relaxing tub to wash away the worries of your day that is a good thing. If however, you are daydreaming for most of your day instead of doing the work that your bossed asks you to do, then it is a bad thing.
We all need to find our happy medium, and enjoy the ability we have to “escape in our minds”.
